Exclusive interview with the CEO of Atari: „the purchase of Bitcoin is highly speculative“.

Von admin

Fred Chesnais, CEO of Atari, says the company aims to form a complete ecosystem, encompassing both video games and the blockchain.

On the subject of cryptomoney and Bitcoin, however, he believes that this is still a sector that is heavily based on speculation.

Fred Chesnais explains that the management of the company and the management of the funds entrusted by the shareholders „are two different subjects“, noting that „the purchase of Crypto Engine is highly speculative“. This is why the company prefers to resell any payments in Bitcoin or other digital currencies in order to convert them into euros or dollars, bull run or not.

Fred Chesnais, CEO of Atari, answered some questions from BeInCrypto.

The Atari company, mainly known to the general public for its video games, has also been involved in blockchain technology and the crypto sector for some time now.

Fred Chesnais, CEO of the company, openly declared to be a „great supporter of blockchain“. Likewise, Atari now has its own token, in addition to trying out innovations between games, crypto and blockchain. Answering a few questions from BeInCrypto, Mr. Chesnais however made a point of saying that the world of cryptomoney remains very speculative.

A complete ecosystem

Regarding Atari’s various projects, including a crypto wallet currently being developed, according to Mr. Chesnais, the goal is to offer the public „a complete ecosystem, bringing together different games and services under the Atari brand“.

Regarding the creation of the Atari token, this token would mainly aim to be an „additional tool […] allowing us to offer more games and to form partnerships“. On this subject, Mr. Chesnais added :

„For example, we are going to announce that Atari sponsors car races on the blockchain“.

Having said that, he acknowledged that the traditional gamer audience is totally different from those interested in blockchain gaming, „in terms of age, expectations and type of games“.

„To date,“ he added, „blockchain gamers are (in my opinion) players who play management games (such as Football Manager) or simulation games.
Bitcoin, a speculative asset

Contrary to the current trend in many institutions, Atari has preferred not to invest part of its cash in the BTC.

For some, this approach could make sense, particularly following the recent drop in prices on the entire crypto market, recalling that volatility remains an undeniable feature of the sector.
