While in the middle of a jucetice library reorganization now i’m quite finished with it, so i decided to take a break and arrange a new version of Jost, which is now leading to 0.5.0. It is not heavily tested as 0.4.6, and is to be considered as a new features release but it’s there with us.

Just in case anyone else hasn’t heard about it, there’s a bug in the latest JOST package that renders it unusable with JACK. Lucio already knows about it, so we can expect a new package Real Soon Now.

I hope i haven’t introduced any other problem with this release. I’m valgrinding massively any run into jost and my plugins and there are still some things that need to be cleared and improved inside juce itself, but things are going better and better now.

Read on KVR that 0.5.2 is out and wanted to bump the ebuild. I wondering what happened to jostbridge for us amd64 users, it doesn’t get built with CONFIG=Release32
Also tried the new ALSA output.. it fails to initialize my M-Audio 24/96, but works fine with the onboard HDA (and no, the M-Audio is not in use otherwhise)

welcome back… how goin things ?
well, i have to admit i have focused on things other than supporting the bridge crossing users… I have rewrote the audio stuff to use the internal juce’s device manager so everything now should be more in line with the library and every new thing improved in it will go directly inside jost. I’m slowly rewriting the jack bridge as a juce AudioDevice so you will be satisfied after (i hope!).
For the alsa problem i don’t know, actually never had any problem with my echo gina3g and my internal intel HD. Maybe it’s a problem in juce itself. Have you tried the juce demo application and see if you get sound in the AudioDemo page ?
